College of Science and Engineering Associate Professor Tomoko Hasegawa Selected for Highly Cited Researchers List for Second Year in a Row

Continuing from last year, Associate Professor Tomoko Hasegawa of the College of Science and Engineering was selected for the Highly Cited Researchers 2020 list.
The Highly Cited Researchers list, which is released annually by Web of Science owner Clarivate Analytics, recognizes “the world's most influential researchers of the past decade, demonstrated by the production of multiple highly-cited papers that rank in the top 1% by citations for field and year in Web of Science.”
For this year’s list, 6,167 researchers (including 91 from Japanese research institutions) representing a variety of disciplines and hailing from around 60 countries and regions were selected for the list. Associate Professor Hasegawa was selected for the Cross Field category, which evaluates researchers based on the total number of citations received for papers published in multiple fields.

Comment from Associate Professor Hasegawa

I am deeply honored to be recognized again this year.
I am extremely grateful for having an environment where I can concentrate on my research, the supervisors who afforded me various opportunities, the many people who have provided me with guidance, my colleagues who I have been conducting research with and bouncing ideas off, and everyone else that supports my research on a daily basis. Taking encouragement from this award, I will continue working on my research and conveying what I have gained through my experience to the younger generation.
