Thirty six (36) researchers from Ritsumeikan University ranked among the world’s top 2%!

On September 17, 2024, the “science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators,” a comprehensive list identifying the world’s top 2% of scientists, was updated by Stanford University and Elsevier, and 36 researchers from Ritsumeikan University were included.

This list is based on information from Scopus (a bibliographic database) and entails an analysis of researchers worldwide who have published at least five papers in 22 research fields and 174 sub-fields. They were evaluated using a combination of indicators such as total number of citations (excluding self-citations), h-index, number of single-authored papers, and number of papers with individual citations.

At present, Ritsumeikan University is aiming to realize a next-generation research-intensive university that generates social symbiotic values, based on its medium-term plan “R2030 Academy Vision.” We will continue to produce world-class research results by collaborating with researchers and institutions in various research fields around the world. We will also actively generate further innovations, address global social issues, and contribute to education.
