Holding the 3rd Collaboration Workshop (Online) with the Department of Architecture (Graduate School), Chulalongkorn University

“Introduction to On-site Research (Thai Project)”, one of the classes opened by the College of Policy Science, brought students to Thailand and held International Collaborative Workshops in every Summer Break. In the workshops, students conducted fieldwork to attain research objectives and verify hypotheses as well as received lectures by Thai university teachers and practitioners. The spread of COVID-19 made unable us to visit Thailand in 2020, however, we held the 3rd Collaboration Workshop via Online (4 day on 16th Nov., 23rd Nov., 30th Nov., and 21st Dec. 2020; 90 minutes each day).

In this workshop, students received lectures by Thai university teachers and practitioners mainly on two issues of their study interests: Community Development through Garbage Recycle in Slums and Raising the High School Entrance Rate of Slum Children. Moreover, students gave final academic presentations on the issues and received feedbacks. Even though we could not visit Thailand, the students learned up-to-date findings about Thailand and could take this opportunity to improve their studies further based on the feedbacks.

This workshop could be held with the cooperation of the Department of Architecture (Graduate School), Chulalongkorn University. Taking this opportunity, we would like to express our gratitude to ones make it possible.
