Do Amon, a fourth-year student in CRPS at the School of Policy Science, and a member of Professor Masatto Kamikubo's seminar, was selected as one of the representatives of Japan for the "75th Japan-America Student Conference".

The "Japan-America Student Conference" is the oldest international student exchange forum in Japan, dating back to 1934. Japanese and American students gathered and lived together for approximately three weeks during the summer. They engaged in various discussions and activities, deepening mutual understanding between Japan and the United States. Additionally, they conducted discussions on various global issues.

Amon was born to a Chinese father and a Japanese mother, grew up in Shanghai from the age of four. After graduating from high school, she came to Japan and enrolled at Ritsumeikan University. She has not forgotten those words since her enrolment and has practised learning beyond university studies.

Amon actively applied for student forums (public discussion forums) organised by various organisations. She said that she was unsuccessful in many of them, but she did not give up and kept applying. She gained more experience by volunteering in Ukraine and participating in the 'ASEAN Special Youth Forum'. Finally, she was selected to a represent Japan at the 'Japan-America Student Conferenceā€.

We look forward to seeing what the future holds for Amon, who has decided to go on to postgraduate studies with the hope of working in international cooperation and humanitarian aid in the future.
