About Applications for JSPS Science Research Fellowships for Young Scientists

Applications are filed via an institutional application system in which the affiliated research institution collects the application forms from applicants and submits them together to JSPS.
Therefore, you will need to plan your application accordingly by checking the "Application Guidelines" below, which describe the application schedule and other procedures at Ritsumeikan University.

Application Annual Schedule

  1. Publication of the application guidelines for JSPS Special Research Fellows

  2. Mid-March

    University begins internal schedule announcements for application procedures

    Announcements will be made on manaba+R and the Graduate School Career Path Promotion Office website

  3. Early April

    Start of internal application procedures

    Please submit all files within each system by the internal application deadline.

    【On campus web】Obtain JSPS electronic system ID (only for those who have not yet obtained it. Those who obtained it at Ritsumeikan University in previous years can reuse it.)

    【On JSPS electronic system】 Prepare the complete set of application documents

    • At this point, request evaluators to prepare evaluation reports
  4. Mid-May

    Internal application deadline for RPD

    Late May

    Internal application deadline for DC1, DC2, PD

  5. University submits collective application to JSPS

Issuance of a new Japan Society for the Promotion of Science ID

Applications for the JSPS Fellowships for Young Scientists are submitted electronically via the internet.If you are using the electronic application system for the first time at Ritsumeikan University, you will need to have an applicant ID and password issued.
If you would like Ritsumeikan to issue you an applicant ID and password, please use the following "New ID Issuance Request Form” to apply.
(The IDs issued by Ritsumeikan University to persons appointed since AY2015 can be used for this system.)

  • After you send your ID issuance request, we will send a confirmation email the email address you listed on your application form.
  • If you have lost or forgotten your password and would like to have it reissued, please send an email to grad-sch@st.ritsumei.ac.jp (change the @ symbol to a half-width character) with the subject line "Request to reissue password for JSPS electronic application ID" and include the following in the body of the message: 1) your name, 2) your name in katakana, and (3) your date of birth.
