Libraries

Ritsumeikan University has a total of seven libraries and reference rooms across Kinugasa Campus, Osaka Ibaraki Campus, Biwako-Kusatsu Campus, and other locations. Students studying at Ritsumeikan University have access to the library’s collection of over 2.5 million books and a variety of academic databases including journal and newspaper databases. We encourage SKP students to make use of them in their studies.

International House Dormitories

Ritsumeikan University has several international dormitories called “International Houses” (I-Houses) near each campus. Approachable and experienced Resident Mentors (who are bilingual regular RU students) and live-in managers also live in the dormitories and help international students with their transition to living in Japan.

Cafeterias

From healthy set meals, to sandwiches, crepes, and halal food options, Ritsumeikan University’s cafeterias offer a wide variety of eating options for all students.

Gymnasiums

RU’s gyms (“Training Rooms”) are equipped with state-of-the-art exercise equipment and free weights, and are available for all students to use. Before using the gym, students are first required to take an introductory training course.

Kyoto Museum for World Peace

The Kyoto Museum for World Peace, Ritsumeikan University, on Kinugasa Campus is the world's first peace museum established by a university. Making the most of RU’s status as a comprehensive university, visitors can view exhibits that were created based on academic knowledge, and consider the fact that peace is “something that we create through our own efforts.”

Ritsumeikan University Cooperative

The Ritsumeikan Cooperative (Co-op) operates the university cafeteria and bookstore, among other services. By becoming a Co-op member, students can receive a 10% discount on purchases at the cafeteria and bookstore.

On-Campus Computers & Internet Services

All students at RU are provided with a university email address and an individual User ID to access RU's digital services. Computer rooms (MMR) and printers are available for use on every campus. The university also provides a campus-wide wireless network for students to use.

Bookstores

The on-campus bookstore offers a wide variety of books for purchase including textbooks, business books, magazines, and manga (comic books). You can also order books and magazines that are not available in the store. By becoming a Co-op member, students can receive a 10% discount on purchases at the bookstore.

Convenience Stores

Each campus has its own convenience store, which is used daily by many students. They offer food items such as bento lunch boxes, assorted breads, sandwiches, drinks, and snacks, as well as daily necessities and stationery.
