Ritsumeikan University (RU) was established in 1900 and is one of Japan's most well-known universities. RU has 35,000 students and boasts 14 colleges and 20 graduate schools. The University was selected for the highly competitive "Top Global University Project" by the Japanese Government to lead the internationalization within higher education in Japan. The Community and Regional Policy Studies Major (CRPS) in College of Policy Science is offered in English and focuses on identifying solutions to major issues faced by society such as global warming, energy supply, city planning and so on.
