Founded in 1900, Ritsumeikan University (RU) is one of Japan's most well-known universities. RU has 35,000 students including some 1800 international students. The University boasts 14 colleges and 20 graduate schools in the fields of social science, humanities and natural science. The University was selected for the highly competitive "Top Global University Project" by the Japanese Government to lead the internationalization within higher education in Japan.
