The New Campus Asia Program
Ritsumeikan University College of Letters’ Campus Asia Program allows students to study abroad in both China and South Korea, and learn about the history, culture, and society of the three CAP countries in the local language with local friends.
Students learn the Chinese and Korean languages and acquire basic knowledge of each nation in their first year, and study abroad in their second and third years.
Features of the Program
POINT01
Joint Campus in China and South Korea
In their second and third years, students travel between Guangzhou, China and Busan, South Korea each semester for two years to study language courses and specialized courses on East Asian humanities.
POINT02
Practical study of Chinese and Korean
Through Pre-Joint Campus studies in their first year, students learn Chinese and Korean intensively and develop basic skills to effectively cope during their time in the "Joint Campus."
POINT03
Acquisition of expertise in East Asian Humanities
At each university, students will take courses on Chinese and Korean history, culture, and society. Using the language skills they develop as a tool, students will acquire specialized knowledge that enables them to consider and analyze East Asia from a global perspective.

Acquisition of international networking and communication skills
In China and South Korea, students will acquire international communication skills through mutual exchanges such as dialogue and group work with local students, as well as through experiencing cultural friction and differences.

From East Asia to the World
− Strengthening Practical English Skills −
Students participating in the newly established AG course will take specialized courses conducted in English on the richly international APU campus along with international students from around the world. Students will cultivate practical English skills through presentations and discussions in English.
