Student Support

Support by Faculty and Staff

The program is run by faculty members who have experience teaching in China and South Korea, studying abroad, and who have extensive experience teaching and providing guidance for international students from other countries. In addition, specialized staff are assigned at the Administrative Office of the College of Letters at Ritsumeikan University in order to provide everyday support on student life, as well as inbound and outbound study abroad (Joint Campus) support for CAP students.
Shared laboratories dedicated to CAP students and office hours with faculty members are available to ensure an environment that promotes study, exchange, and consultation. The curriculum and course registration model over the four years is explained to CAP students to ensure they have the opportunity to fully understand their unique learning path.

Program Tuition Fees

Tuition at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and Dongseo University during Joint Campus are not required to be payed as they are offset by the tuition fees of the College of Letters, Ritsumeikan University. (Only the regular tuition fees for the College of Letters are required.) In regards to the tuition fees of the College of Letters, Ritsumeikan University, please refer to the “Tuition & Scholarships” section on the Ritsumeikan University Entrance Exam Information Website (Japanese only).
Other typical program costs per semester are as follows: Monthly living expenses vary greatly depending on the destination country, individual lifestyles, exchange rates, cost of living, and other factors.

Scholarships

Ritsumeikan University provides recommendations for CAP students to apply for the "Ritsumeikan University Study Abroad Challenge Scholarship", which is a Ritsumeikan University scholarship, and for scholarships offered by the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO). (Students are unable to receive multiple scholarships concurrently.) Ritsumeikan University Study Abroad Challenge Scholarship: 150,000 yen for study in China, 250,000 yen for study in Korea (one semester, results for AY 2023).

Housing During Joint Campus

During their time in the Joint Campus, students live in a dormitory provided by the host university. Students from China, Korea, and Japan deepen cultural exchange through communal living.
