Why GSISE?
#KEYWORD - 01State-of-the-art Research Environment
The Graduate School of Information Science and Engineering conducts significant research activities by funds from grants-in-aid for scientific research, joint research with private companies and other governmental funds. Therefore, we provide students the state-of-the-art facilities and equipment and education based on the latest research activities.
The followings are delegated projects and grants we received.
Grants-in-aid for Scientific Research from Japanese Government (KAKENHI) 2025
- Accepted Amount: 1.48 billionー Ranked in the 1st place among private universities in western Japan (4th place among private universities in Japan)
- Accepted projects in the research field “Informatics”:
- - In the "Human informatics and related fields" section, GSISE was ranked in the 1st place among private universities in Japan (7th place among all the universities in Japan)
- - In the "Applied informatics and related fields" section, GSISE was ranked in the 1st place among private universities in Japan (9th place among all the universities in Japan)
- *This includes joint research with other departments at Ritsumeikan University and other universities.

#KEYWORD - 02Study Abroad Program
To foster professionals who can succeed on the international stage, the Graduate School of Information Science and Engineering offers study abroad programs for which academic credit is awarded.
In overseas IT training program, students aim at acquiring certain view of future career while deepening knowledge of students’ professional fields, acquiring practical skills, deepening self-understanding and capturing true nature of the job throughout the internship. Students can deepen their expertise by utilizing their IT knowledge in Japanese-affiliated IT companies and local IT companies in the U.S.A, China, India and Vietnam.
#KEYWORD - 03International Students from all over the world
Over 150 International students are studying in Graduate School of Information Science and Engineering. All international students belong to laboratories with Japanese students which gives international students opportunity to exchange their cultures.
There are many scholarship programs for Graduate School of Information Science and Engineering. We accept outstanding students from India, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia as our graduate school was adopted special program from Japanese government (Monbukagakusho). We also have many other scholarship admissions.
Our graduate school also provide tuition reduction systems for outstanding international students such as 100% tuition reduction and 20% tuition reduction(one year).

There are about 100 professors in our graduate school and students can study in English under all the professors. Our professors are working hard for their research activities. Students can learn their fields based on the latest research achievements.
