Profile

I was a JSPS Research Fellow PD at Seikei University between 2021-2023. In 2018-2021, I was a research assistant at Waseda University where I received my PhD in Politics in 2021 (“Critical methodology in critical theory: Reconstructive critique in Habermas and Honneth”). From 2016-2017, I was a visiting researcher at Goethe University Frankfurt.

Research /
educational interests

I have research interests ranging across political philosophy, critical theory, feminist philosophy, and social philosophy of Jürgen Habermas and Axel Honneth. I focus especially on issues of methodology of political theory, structural power, social criticism, recognition theory, and epistemic injustice. Recently I published the article “Recognition, power, and trust: Epistemic structural account of ideological recognition” (2023) in Constellations.

Message

Policy studies deal with wide range of knowledge including empirical research, case study, formal theory, political philosophy, and so on. Cooperation across disciplines is required to propose a solution to a social problem. I expect students to become specialists in specific areas while developing knowledge in a variety of research fields.
