Research /
educational interests

My research primarily focuses on relationships between residential location, transportation systems, and destination access.

The ability to reach destinations is central to our lives. People travel every day for a wide range of purposes, including commuting to work or school, visiting hospitals and supermarkets, accessing public facilities, and engaging in other activities. Ideally, an urban transportation system should provide everyone with a means of reaching their destinations efficiently, safely, and affordably. In reality, however, some people face limitations on their daily mobility due to economic, physical, or other circumstances, creating inequities in access to transportation.

In my research, I identify people who face difficulties accessing destinations, quantify the extent of their constraints, and analyze existing policies. Based on these findings, I evaluate concrete approaches and measures for developing more equitable and effective transportation systems.
