The article, titled “Interpreting Daly's Sustainability Criteria for Assessing the Sustainability of Marine Protected Areas: A System Dynamics Approach,” assesses the sustainability of a marine protected area by quantitatively interpreting Herman Daly's qualitative Sustainability Criteria by applying system dynamics and elicits desirable management measures.

Mr. Nugroho is on a scholarship from the Indonesian Linkage Program, studying in the Dual Master Degree Program between Urban and Regional Planning, Universitas Gadjah Mada and Graduate School of Policy Science, Ritsumeikan University. Although Professor Uehara, his academic supervisor at Ritsumeikan University, co-authored the article, Mr. Nugroho himself achieved significant progress in one year after coming to Japan.
