- To help achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Ritsumeikan University is actively engaged in connecting diverse individuals and organizations so that new knowledge may be created and talent, who could carry forward such knowledge in light of these responsibilities, may be fostered. In this feature, we introduce a range of research activities that the globally and locally connected researchers of this university are engaged in, work that in more ways than one, contributes towards the achievement of the SDGs and solving social issues that Japan faces as a developed country. In our continually changing society, what is Ritsumeikan's mission, and what contributions can we make towards a sustainable community? With these questions in mind, in a united effort with dedicated citizens across our shared planet, Ritsumeikan is challenging itself to tackle the problems confronting our world.
