About RADIANT

The inaugural issue of RADIANT "Asia" was published in November 2015 as a research report disseminating diverse research at Ritsumeikan University, hoping that the research achievements of Ritsumeikan University will be a step toward creating a brighter future and help to illuminate the world going forward as its name signifies.

Each issue of RADIANT features articles written through interviews with selected researchers of Ritsumeikan University on the theme that will be the "face" of the issue. It also introduces research activities of early-career researchers who are currently the focus of attention (or expected to be active in the near future). Taking advantage of its strength as a comprehensive institution, RADIANT deals with diverse research topics from Humanities and Social Sciences to Natural Sciences, covering a wide range of themes such as "Kyoto," "Sustainability," "Space," and "Game." To date, it has featured more than 200 researchers. With campuses in Kyoto, Shiga, and Osaka, moreover, Ritsumeikan University yields a great deal of research specific to each region.

Although the COVID-19 pandemic forced us to suspend coverage at times, we reached our milestone 20th issue, "Rebirth," in 2023.

Ritsumeikan University will continue to make vigorous research efforts to "realize a next-generation research university that generates new social symbiotic values and emergent human resources" under the R2030 Academy Vision.

RADIANT will continue to disseminate the latest research achievements of our researchers and our efforts in industry-government-academia collaboration in an easy-to-understand manner in order to deliver appealing knowledge to a wider audience.
