Representatives of the Maruwa Ikushi Foundation Visit Our School and Meet with Students Supported by the Inquiry Project Program
Since the 2025 academic year, our school has been promoting inquiry-based learning with the support of the Maruwa Ikushi Foundation. Over the past two years, a total of 10 student and teacher projects have received support, with each project pursuing activities based on its own research theme.
On Friday, October 2, we welcomed Chairman Hashimoto, Mr. Takeuchi, and Mr. Kitamura from the Maruwa Ikushi Foundation to our school. During their visit, they observed inquiry-based learning classes and met with students whose projects are supported by the foundation.
During the discussion session, students presented their ongoing inquiry projects and received questions and advice from a variety of perspectives. Engaging in dialogue with people from outside the school provided a valuable opportunity for students to reflect on their work from new angles and broaden their perspectives.
This year's supported students are working on a wide range of projects, including creating a werewolf-style game that raises awareness of environmental issues, developing a career guidance app, and writing academic papers in English using international research literature for submission to academic journals. The students will continue to deepen their inquiries by applying the insights and advice gained from this discussion session.
The Maruwa Ikushi Foundation provides grant-based scholarships for university students and supports entrepreneurs engaged in social business initiatives. The foundation also holds a monthly Social Business Study Group, providing a forum for open and lively discussions and exchanges of ideas.
