Grade 9 Australia Study Tour Begins!
On Friday, August 21, our Grade 9 students departed from Kansai International Airport for their study tour in Brisbane, Australia.
This study tour will take place over approximately two weeks, from Friday, August 21 to Friday, September 4. The students will be divided among 10 schools in and around Brisbane, where they will experience Australian culture and daily life through classes and交流 activities at local schools, homestays, and other experiences.
After arriving in Brisbane, the students first visited a shopping mall, where they had lunch on their own. Some immediately took on the challenge of ordering food and shopping in English. They then visited Mount Coot-tha and Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, where they enjoyed their first experiences in Australia while seeing koalas, kangaroos, and other animals unique to the country up close.
Then came the much-anticipated moment of meeting their host families. The students looked a little nervous as they met the families they would be spending the next two weeks with, but their expressions also showed their excitement about the new experiences ahead.
From classes and交流 activities at their local schools to daily conversations with their host families, shopping, and meals, every experience over the coming weeks will provide a valuable opportunity for the students to put the English they have learned into practice. We hope they will not be afraid of making mistakes, but will actively use English and challenge themselves to communicate their thoughts and ideas.
We also hope that, in addition to improving their English skills, they will broaden their horizons by experiencing firsthand cultures, customs, and values that differ from those in Japan, and by embracing and enjoying these differences.
