On Saturday, October 10, 2026, six second-year students from the IB Course at Ritsumeikan Uji High School participated in the All-Japan Rocket Competition, held in Tsuchiura City, Ibaraki Prefecture.

This year's competition attracted a record number of more than 270 participants, with two teams representing Ritsumeikan Uji High School. Making their debut in the competition, the two teams placed 48th and 63rd, respectively, in the National Class Parachute Duration Event. However, in the Overall Category, neither team was able to meet the required flight conditions, resulting in no official scores—a disappointing outcome for the students.

Although the students did not achieve the results they had hoped for, the competition provided a valuable opportunity to reflect on the challenges involved in rocket construction and launching and to apply what they learned to future activities. Their participation was made possible not only through the efforts of their supervising teachers but also through the warm support of their parents and guardians. We sincerely thank everyone for their support.

The next competition is scheduled to take place in May 2027. Building on this experience, the students are determined to further improve their technical skills and achieve better results. We look forward to their continued efforts and future challenges.
