Five Exchange Students from France and Australia Begin Their Studies at Ritsumeikan Uji

On Monday, October 19, five exchange students from France and Australia began their studies at our school.

Three students from Rennes, La Rochelle, and Paris in France arrived through Colibri, a Franco-Japanese high school student exchange network of which our school is a member. In addition, two students from Redlands College in Australia, one of our partner schools, joined us through the REP (Real Exchange Program).

In the morning, the students put on our school uniforms and took a tour of the campus. As they looked forward to attending their first classes in the afternoon, they seemed excited and eager to discover what school life in Japan would be like.

The students from France will spend three weeks at Ritsumeikan Uji High School, while those from Australia will stay for eight weeks. During their time here, they will experience Japanese high school life firsthand. Since France and Australia do not have the same school-based extracurricular club culture as Japan, participating in after-school club activities will also be a new experience for them.

We hope everyone will warmly welcome and support these exchange students as they make the most of their time at our school.
