IPC and IB Students Connect Through Scavenger Hunt and Uji Walk
IPC1 and IPC3 students teamed up with IB2 students for a scavenger hunt at Taiyogaoka Park, while IPC2 students explored Uji’s cultural and historical sites during the annual Uji Walk on October 22, 2026. Both activities gave students opportunities to learn beyond the classroom and connect with their peers across year groups.
Working in mixed groups, students explored the park and took on a series of challenges that called for communication, creativity, and cooperation. IB2 students, including some former IPC students, helped lead the groups, guiding their peers and encouraging everyone to participate. Group 6 earned the highest score, demonstrating strong coordination and teamwork.
Following the scavenger hunt, students enjoyed lunch together before taking part in recreational activities, including volleyball, badminton and soccer, or spending time with their classmates in the park.
Meanwhile, IPC2 students visited Byodo-in Temple and explored areas around JR Uji Station and Keihan Uji Station. The walk connected their Japanese class discussions with firsthand experiences of Uji’s cultural and historical sites. They later joined the other IPC students at Taiyogaoka Park for lunch and the afternoon activities.
The day provided opportunities for students to build connections beyond their own year groups. For IPC students, interacting with IB2 students, including former IPC students, also offered a glimpse of the next stage of their school journey.
