IB course CAS Hiking (Bunagatake)

On Saturday October 15th, seven IB students in second and third year participated in our last CAS hiking trip this school year, over the Hira mountain range in Shiga Prefecture. Following a 15 km course with an elevation gain of about 1000 meters, this was the most challenging hike of the year. By taking on this challenge, students practiced being risk-takers, one of the 10 IB Learner Profile attributes, and were rewarded with stunning views over the surrounding mountains, forest scenery and Lake Biwa. This was a challenging hike, but the rewards certainly made it a worthwhile experience!
