On Sunday, December 25, 2022, Ritsumeikan Uji, representing Kyoto, took part in the National High School Ekiden Women's Race, finishing 4th in the nation with a time of "[1 hour, 8 minutes, 12 seconds]". The Corona restrictions were lifted, and cheerleaders returned to the stadium to cheer on the runners, making for a spectacular event.

The race started well with Yumi Yamamoto in 3rd place in the 1st section, Sayuki Ota chasing the lead runner Sendai Ikuei by 13 seconds in the 2nd section, Aiko Hosoya ran a great run in the 3rd section to close the gap to 3 seconds from the leader, and Chiseno Ikeda competed with Nagano Higashi in the 4th section to take 3rd place. In the final 5th section, the ace section, Ai Segawa ran a strong race to keep her 4th place ranking.

Thanks to the warm support of everyone along the route, we were able to stay in a position to constantly challenge the leaders throughout the entire race. Thank you very much for your support. We will continue to work hard with the strength of knowing that we are in a position where we can aim for victory.
