First-year junior high school students picking tea

Uji City, Kyoto Prefecture, where Ritsumeikan Uji Junior High School is located, is famous for its tea. Tea was offered to the shogun during the Edo period (1603-1867).
On Wednesday, May 24, we went tea picking at Hattori Tea Factory, which we are grateful for every year. In addition to picking tea, we listened to a talk about the history of tea and toured the factory. The weather was beautiful and we were able to enjoy the experience with lots of smiles.
