Mizuhiki, the traditional Japanese crafts.
We invited an instructor and made accessories using mizuhiki, one of the traditional Japanese crafts.
In the first talk by the instructor, participants learned about the history of mizuhiki and that each knot has a different meaning. In the workshop, participants created straps and earrings by combining mizuhiki of their favorite colors. Everyone's eyes lit up as they chose the colors, as the mood of the work changed depending on the hue and the order of the colors.
After that, they were carefully taught how to make each step and completed their one-of-a-kind original Mizuhiki accessories. Some were making them for themselves, while others were making them as gifts for their family members as a token of their appreciation for their daily lives, with smiles of satisfaction on their faces at the cute original accessories.
