July 20th Ritsumeikan Uji High School held its first ever TedEd event on campus. TedEd is affiliated with the world famous Ted talks. For this event our IB3 students and their teachers planned for six months to get permission from the Ted organization, recruit speakers, develop speeches, and deliver an outstanding event.

At the event, 13 Ritsumeikan Uji students from the IB and IM Courses gave speeches on the theme of “Vision.” For our IB3 students this was a capstone event in their senior year that marked the successful completion of their CAS program. For younger students this event gave them a valuable introduction to public speaking. Overall more than 100 people attended the event including students, parents, teachers and staff.

The event was a great success and we were thrilled to be able to host a Ted branded event. We hope to be able to host a TedEd conference in 2024 and in future years.
