Cultural Exchange Meeting Strengthens Bonds Between Exchange Students and Junior High Students

On May 22nd, during the lunch break, a heartwarming cultural exchange session was hosted at Ritsumeikan Uji Junior High and High School. The event saw the participation of 18 high school exchange students from Seattle and 34 members of the international committee from Ritsumeikan Uji. Despite the limited time, the students engaged in fruitful discussions, sharing insights about their native foods, tourist attractions, and handy phrases from their respective countries.

This gathering marked the first exchange meeting of the academic year and left a lasting impression with its atmosphere of nervous excitement that gradually transformed into joyful interactions. The students from Ritsumeikan Uji, initially reserved, progressively took active parts in the conversations, their faces lighting up with smiles.

The school, known for its frequent interactions with exchange students, continues to provide valuable opportunities for its students to engage with different cultures and people. Such experiences are instrumental in broadening young minds and perspectives, encouraging them to explore and embrace the diverse world around them.
