Ritsumeikan Uji Junior High Panthers Secure Semifinal Spot with Shutout Victory

Uji, May 26, 2024 - The Ritsumeikan Uji Junior High School Panthers have advanced to the semifinals of the 22nd Kansai Junior High School American Football Championship following a decisive 42-0 victory over the Hyogo Stokes. The match, held at the Ritsumeikan Uji Junior High School Grounds, showcased the Panthers' dominant performance from start to finish.

The game started with an energetic offensive push by the Panthers, who quickly scored through a combination of running plays and passes, setting a fast pace that the Stokes struggled to match. The Panthers' defense was impenetrable, forcing the Stokes into a three-and-out on their first possession. Following their defensive stand, the Panthers executed a seamless pass play that transitioned into a run, culminating in a touchdown. By the end of the first quarter, the Panthers had established a lead of two touchdowns.

The momentum continued into the second quarter, with the Panthers extending their lead to four touchdowns by halftime. In the second half, while the Stokes improved their passing and running, they were unable to breach the Panthers' steadfast defense, which showcased its prowess with key interceptions that halted any potential scoring drives. The Panthers added one touchdown in both the third and fourth quarters to secure their victory.

Looking ahead, the Panthers are set to compete in the semifinals against Keimei Gakuin Junior High. The match is scheduled for June 9 at the Kansai Gakuin University Grounds, where the Panthers will look to continue their quest for the championship title.
