Shota Fujii & American Football Team Wins Kyoto Private Schools Promotion Award

On June 9, 2024, the "Kyoto Private Schools Promotion Award Ceremony" was held at the Kyoto Private Schools Hall, celebrating the achievements of students across various disciplines. Among the honorees was Shota Fujii, a sophomore from Ritsumeikan Uji High School, who received the Cultural and Sports Activity Award for his outstanding contributions in both academics and sports.

Ritsumeikan Uji was represented by their Middle School and High School American Football teams, alongside Shota Fujii. The Middle School American Football team claimed the runner-up position at the 10th Japanese Middle School American Football Championship and secured second place nationally in the Junior Cup 2023. Meanwhile, the High School American Football team achieved remarkable success by winning the 54th National High School American Football Championship and finishing as runners-up in the 52nd Kansai High School American Football Championship.

Shota Fujii himself made headlines with his exceptional performance in the All Japan Kart Championships OK category, where he finished first in races three through six, ultimately earning him the title of JAF All Japan Kart Championship OK category champion based on series rankings.

This award highlights Fujii's dual achievements in both academic pursuits and sporting excellence, showcasing the dynamic capabilities of students at Ritsumeikan Uji. The school community and fans eagerly anticipate further achievements from Fujii and his teams in the future.
