Alumnus Souta Kawasaki Selected for Japan's U-23 Soccer Team for the Paris Olympics
We are thrilled to announce that our alumnus, Souta Kawasaki, currently playing for Kyoto Sanga FC, has been selected as a member of Japan's U-23 soccer team for the 33rd Paris Olympic Games.
On Sunday, July 14th, after the match against Urawa Reds, Principal Ochi had the honor of presenting Kawasaki with a message board filled with well-wishes from students and staff.
Originally from Yamanashi Prefecture, Kawasaki joined Ritsumeikan Uji High School as a first-year student through the Scholar-Athlete Project (SAP), a collaboration between Kyocera Corporation, Ritsumeikan Academy, and Kyoto Sanga FC. He was promoted to the top team in his third year of high school and continued his studies at Ritsumeikan University's College of Social Sciences, from which he graduated in March 2024.
Kawasaki departed for Paris with a message of determination: "I will carry everyone's hopes with me and do my best in Paris."
