High School Boys' Badminton Singles: Participation in Inter-High School Tournament
From July 30 to August 4, 2024, the 75th Annual National High School Badminton Championship Tournament, also known as the Inter-High "Transforming Gratitude into Strength: Northern Kyushu 2024," was held at SAGA Sunrise Park and SAGA Arena in Saga City. Tomoya KINONE, a second-year student from our school, participated for the first time in the boys' singles event.At the newly established and grand arena, the tournament featured high-level matches typical of a national competition, with representatives from each prefecture. The results are as follows:
First Round:
KINONE (Ritsumeikan Uji, Kyoto) 1 - 2 (Hokuetsu, Niigata)
Despite facing a third-year student who ranked first in his prefecture, Tomoya delivered an intense match that extended to the final set, demonstrating that the outcome was uncertain until the very end. Unfortunately, he was narrowly defeated in the first round.
We hope that Kine will use this experience to aim for higher achievements in next year's Inter-High. Thank you very much for your support.Furthermore, Tomoya will continue to compete as the Kyoto Prefecture representative in the boys' singles at the upcoming National Sports Festival Kinki Block Qualifiers and the Kinki Tournament Kyoto Prefecture Qualifiers.
