Sota Kawasaki, an alumnus of our school and currently a player for Kyoto Sanga FC, participated in the Paris Olympics (Soccer) held from July 26 to August 11, 2024. After graduating from Ritsumeikan Uji High School, Kawasaki joined the Kyoto Sanga FC first team while also enrolling in the College of Social Sciences at Ritsumeikan University, from which he graduated this spring. Kawasaki was selected as a member of Japan's U-23 team for the Paris Olympics and contributed to the team’s advancement to the quarterfinals.

On Thursday, August 29, Kawasaki visited his alma mater, Ritsumeikan University, where he presented a commemorative jersey to President Morishima of Ritsumeikan University and Principal Ochi of Ritsumeikan Uji High School. Kawasaki expressed his gratitude, saying, "The atmosphere at the Olympic venue was truly special, and I received tremendous support from the spectators. Thank you very much."
