High School Sports Festival — This Is RitsUji!
On Tuesday, May 13, under a perfect blue May sky, the annual High School Sports Festival was held in full spirit and excitement.
The opening ceremony kicked off with performances by the Dance Club, Baton Twirling Club, and Cheerleading Club, culminating in a joint performance that set the tone for the day's festivities.
During the Club Relay, each club showed off its unique flair. In the Performance Division—voted on by students—the Baton Twirling Club claimed victory. In the All-Out Sprint Division, both the boys’ and girls’ categories were dominated by the Track and Field Club.
The afternoon featured the spirited Cheer Battle, with the Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, and Purple teams presenting the cheer performances they had been practicing for a month and a half since April. Though all the teams delivered incredible performances, the Green Team won the Best Performance Award.
In the grade-wide competitions—Tug of War, Ball Toss, and Typhoon’s Eye—each team showed passionate support, and excitement peaked during the final Team Relay. The Purple Team, having won both the boys’ and girls’ relays, emerged as the overall champion of the day.
During the closing ceremony, team captains gave heartfelt speeches, and the words “This is RitsUji!” resonated strongly with everyone present.
Finally, the Student Council President ended the event with the familiar cheer passed down from last year’s president: “RitsUji is the best!!” marking a powerful close to the 2025 High School Sports Festival.
Thank you to all the parents and guardians who attended and cheered on the students throughout the day!
