International Students Attend a Kabuki Performance at Minami-za Theater
Our school currently hosts 12 international students from the United States, the Czech Republic, Norway, Canada, Germany, and Finland. As part of a monthly program designed to offer hands-on experiences of Japanese culture, the students visited Minami-za Theater in Kyoto in May to enjoy a Kabuki performance.
The first part of the program included an introduction to Kabuki, helping the students deepen their understanding of the art form's history and the content of the performance. In the second part, they watched an actual Kabuki play, enjoying a rare and valuable opportunity to experience traditional Japanese performing arts firsthand.
This experience was a meaningful opportunity for the international students to gain a deeper appreciation of Japan’s rich cultural heritage.
