Theater Performance Held for 2nd and 3rd Year High School Students
On Saturday, May 31, we welcomed “Gekidan Ritsumei Geijutsu Gekijou”, a theater troupe from Ritsumeikan University, to perform at our school's main hall. The performance was attended by our second- and third-year high school students.
The program featured two plays: “A So-Called Novelist” and “Fake Macbeth”. The comedy-filled impersonation scenes drew laughter from the audience, while the more serious scenes had the students holding their breath in focused silence. After the performance, the troupe gave a lecture on “How to Create a Stage Production”. They passionately and thoroughly explained topics such as lighting and sound techniques, direction, and the mindset required of actors and directors. This provided the students with a valuable and insightful learning experience.
At our school, the third-year high school students present a stage play during our annual Kofu Festival. This theater performance served as excellent preparation and inspiration for them. The students were deeply moved and inspired, gaining a renewed appreciation for the art of acting and the joy of theater.
Please look forward to the student-led performance at this year's Kofu Festival!
