Cultural Exchange with 40 Visiting Students from the United States
On June 11, Ritsumeikan Uji Junior and Senior High School welcomed 40 visiting students from the United States for a day of cultural exchange and friendship.
With the generous support of our tea ceremony instructor, Ms. Kodama, and the instructors of the Japanese drum circle “Uzu,” the visitors enjoyed hands-on experiences of traditional Japanese culture. Following the cultural activities, 35 Ritsumeikan Uji students from both junior and senior high schools, who responded to a call for volunteers, joined the guests for an afternoon of fun and connection through origami, kendama (a traditional Japanese cup-and-ball game), and casual conversation.
The students quickly bonded, proving once again that youth knows no borders when it comes to building friendships.
