A Memorable Day at Biwako: Wrapping Up IPC Term 1 with Adventure and Fun

To mark the end of Term 1, IPC students from Years 1 to 3 enjoyed a special excursion to the scenic shores of Lake Biwa on Monday, July 14. The trip was designed as a well-deserved reward and celebration of the students’ hard work throughout the term, offering a chance to relax, bond with classmates, and engage in outdoor adventures amid beautiful natural surroundings.

Fortunately, the weather was kind. Despite a few gusts of wind, conditions remained comfortably mild, and the lack of intense summer sun made for ideal outdoor fun.

One of the day’s most exciting activities was kayaking. Students enthusiastically took to the water, showing great teamwork, determination, and energy as they paddled across the lake.

After the water activities, students gathered for a barbecue, which provided a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate both independence and collaboration. Many successfully started their own fires and prepared their own meals. The aroma of grilled food filled the air as students enjoyed the delicious results of their efforts while connecting with peers from other year groups.

During free time, the open space was alive with friendly games of soccer and volleyball. Laughter and lively conversations echoed across the area, reflecting the strong friendships and spirit of camaraderie that had developed over the term.

The trip to Lake Biwa was far more than just a day out—it was a celebration of growth, effort, and community. Thanks to the thoughtful planning and leadership of the IPC Committee, especially the IPC3 students, the event provided a joyful and meaningful conclusion to Term 1 and a perfect transition into the summer holidays.
