The 107th National High School Baseball Championship Kyoto Tournament
The quarterfinal match of the 107th National High School Baseball Championship Kyoto Tournament was held on Tuesday, July 22, at Wakasa Stadium Kyoto.
Leading 4–1 going into the top of the 6th inning, Ritsumeikan Uji faced a critical situation with no outs and the bases loaded. However, the team escaped the jam with a fly out to center field followed by a double play on a grounder to second base. In the bottom of the same inning, pinch-hitter Higashi hit a deep drive over center field, contributing to two more runs for the team.
In the top of the 7th inning, a defensive error led to three runs for the opponent, narrowing the lead to 6–4. However, Ritsumeikan Uji quickly responded with two runs in the bottom of the 7th. From the 8th inning onward, relief pitcher Kanno shut out the opposing team, securing an 8–4 victory.
