Ritsumeikan Uji Student Attends MLB All-Star Game! Broadening Horizons Through International Exchange
Thanks to a connection with one of our alumni, a student from Ritsumeikan Uji Senior High School was invited to attend the MLB All-Star Game held in Atlanta, USA, as part of the international program “Player Exchange” hosted by the Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBA).
This program aims to promote international exchange and mutual cultural understanding, focusing on leadership development among junior high and high school students worldwide. Since May 2024, ten students from our school have participated in the program, and one of them was recognized for outstanding efforts and selected as one of two students representing Japan in the U.S.
This marked her first time traveling abroad. Despite some initial nerves, she confidently interviewed MLB players in fluent English. Her performance drew attention from various outlets, with coverage in online news as well.
Meeting and interacting with some of the world's top athletes has greatly broadened her perspective. This experience has become an invaluable opportunity for personal growth and lifelong learning.
