High School Track and Field Team Wins Kyoto High School Ekiden Championship for the 38th Consecutive Time, 40th Overall!

On Saturday, November 1, 2025, the Ritsumeikan Uji High School Girls’ Track and Field Team won the 42nd Kyoto Prefectural High School Ekiden Championship, held at the Kyoto Prefectural Tamba Nature Sports Park.

This event also served as the Kyoto Prefectural Qualifier for both the 37th All Japan High School Ekiden Championship and the 41st Kinki High School Ekiden Championship. Our team achieved an outstanding time of 1 hour, 10 minutes, and 51 seconds, securing victory!

With a performance nearly two minutes faster than last year, this win marks an incredible achievement: 38 consecutive victories and 40 total championships in school history. Even more impressively, every member of the team won the section prize in their respective leg of the race.
