[High School Girls’ Basketball Team] A Come-From-Behind Victory in a Close Match! — U18 Basketball League Kyoto 2025

On Sunday, November 9, the Ritsumeikan Uji High School Girls’ Basketball Team played their second match of the "U18 Basketball League Kyoto 2025" against Otsukuni High School. This was their first away game of the league season, and the players faced the match with understandable nerves. We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the parents who came out to support the team.

Match Result

Ritsumeikan Uji High School 65 - 56 Otsukuni High School

Match Summary

In the first half, both teams showcased strong performances, trading points evenly. Ritsumeikan Uji ended the first quarter with a 13–9 lead. However, they were unable to stop the opponent’s momentum and fell behind 27–30 by the end of the second quarter.

The second half began with the opposing team continuing to dominate, widening the point gap at one point. Despite this tough situation, the players, driven by a determination not to lose, kept fighting. Even with injured teammates and a limited number of substitutes, the bench players supported the on-court team by cheering each other on and maintaining strong team spirit.

In the final fourth quarter, first-year players fought hard for loose balls, converting those opportunities into points, and successfully turned the game around. Though there was a suggestion to defend their narrow lead in the last two minutes, the players pressed forward aggressively and expanded the lead, securing a thrilling come-from-behind victory.
