Tea Ceremony Club Participates in National High School Traditional Culture Festival – A Heartfelt Cup of Tea Shared Through Cultural Exchange

Students from our Tea Ceremony Club participated in the 2025 National High School Traditional Culture Festival – Tea Ceremony Festival, serving as staff for the cultural exchange tea service.

The National High School Traditional Culture Festival offers students across Japan a valuable opportunity to deepen their understanding of traditional Japanese culture through interaction. This event brought together tea ceremony club students from various schools and tea traditions across the country. Our students had the chance to interact with peers from different schools, learning about the differences in etiquette and manners of each tradition while preparing and serving tea together.

During the cultural exchange tea service, the students sincerely served tea to many visitors. They demonstrated the results of their regular training and, embracing the spirit of ichigo ichie ("once-in-a-lifetime encounter"), offered each guest a warm and thoughtful experience.

Participating students shared impressions such as, “Meeting students from all over Japan deepened my understanding of the tea ceremony,” and “Experiencing the different practices of other schools reminded me of the depth and richness of the tea ceremony tradition.”

The Tea Ceremony Club will continue to devote itself to daily practice, aiming to contribute to the preservation and development of traditional Japanese culture.
