The Power of Music That Connects Hearts — 31st Annual Concert of the Junior and Senior High School Wind Ensemble
An Emotional Stage Marking a New Beginning
On Sunday, December 21, 2025, the Junior and Senior High School Wind Ensemble held its 31st Annual Concert at the Uji City Cultural Center. Following the milestone of the 30th concert last year, this year’s performance was positioned as a “new first step,” making it a particularly special occasion.
We expressed our heartfelt gratitude through music to all those who support us every day, aiming to deliver a moving performance to everyone in the audience. We hope the notes we wove together connected quietly yet surely with your hearts.
Part 1: Traditional High School Stage — A Stunning Fusion of Drama and Music
This part followed the tradition of the Ritsumeikan Uji Wind Ensemble, with students managing the entire planning and operation. The stage, combining drama and music in a creative performance, captivated the audience. The setlist included staple pieces such as “DREAM SOLISTER,” “Disney Medley,” and “The Greatest Showman.”
Part 2: Dynamic Junior High Stage — Celebrating the First Gold Medal
The junior high ensemble performed seven pieces, including “We Are Confidence Man,” “Stardust Crusaders,” “Retro,” and “With Heart and Voice.” Having earned their first-ever gold medal this year, the ensemble delivered a bright and energetic performance that warmly enveloped the venue.
Part 3: Generational Harmony on the OB Stage — A Legacy of Passion for Music
The program opened with “Prologue One” by the combined junior and senior high ensemble, followed by “Backdraft” performed by alumni and “Der Rosenkavalier.” The performance transitioned from fresh sounds by current students to mature and powerful renditions by current students and alumni. The main piece, “The Last Letter from Mardock,” especially stood out, delivering a deeply moving performance honed even further since the competition season.
Words Toward the Future — A Heartfelt Speech from the High School Club Captain
In a heartfelt closing speech, the club captain reflected on the past three years and expressed deep gratitude toward fellow members and juniors. The warm words filled the entire venue with emotion.
Continued Support is Appreciated
This concert marked the conclusion of the year’s activities. We look forward to seeing the wind ensemble flourish even more as it moves into a new chapter under its new leadership from January. Thank you for your continued support.
We truly appreciate everyone’s support throughout the year.
