Strong Results at Ski Competitions Before Studying Abroad — Juri Nakata Delivers Impressive Performances
Juri Nakata, a first-year high school student at our school who competes in alpine skiing (individual events), participated in an intensive ski training camp held from December 29 to January 7. Following the camp, she achieved excellent results in several competitions held from late December through early January.
In particular, she placed highly at the 78th Kyoto High School Ski Championships held on January 5–6, where she also delivered strong performances in the Inter-High School Championships qualifiers. Despite preparing for an upcoming study abroad program, her consistent efforts resulted in outstanding achievements.
Competition Results
① 68th Kyoto Prefecture Ski Championships (January 4, Nozawa Onsen Ski Resort)
— Concurrently held as the 48th Kyoto Prefectural Citizens’ Sports Festival (Skiing)
— and the Kyoto Prefecture Qualifying Round for the 104th All-Japan Ski Championships
- Women’s Giant Slalom: 8th place
- Women’s Slalom: 8th place
② 78th Kyoto High School Ski Championships (January 5–6, Nozawa Onsen Ski Resort)
— Concurrently held as the Kyoto Prefecture Qualifying Round for the 75th National High School Ski Championships
- Women’s Giant Slalom: 3rd place (Qualified for Inter-High School Championships)
- Women’s Slalom: 5th place (Qualified for Inter-High School Championships)
③ 68th Kyoto Prefecture Ski Championships (January 17, Taira Ski Resort)
— Concurrently held as the Kyoto Prefecture Qualifying Round for the 80th National Sports Festival (Winter Games, Skiing)
— and the Kyoto Prefecture Qualifying Round for the 104th All-Japan Ski Championships
- Giant Slalom: 4th place
④ 48th Kyoto Prefectural Citizens’ Sports Festival (Skiing)

- Giant Slalom: 7th place
Although Nakata qualified for the Inter-High School Championships through competition ②, she is enrolled in the school’s IM Course, which includes approximately one year of overseas study. As she is scheduled to depart for New Zealand on January 20, she has decided to forgo participation in this year’s Inter-High School Championships.
She will focus on her studies abroad for the coming year and is expected to return to Japan in December. We look forward to her continued growth and future success, and sincerely appreciate your warm support.
