“Class + R: Working Professionals Edition” Career Program Held

On Saturday, January 24, Ritsumeikan Uji Senior High School held a career education program titled “Class + R: Working Professionals Edition” for second-year high school students.

This program was conducted in cooperation with the Ritsumeikan University Alumni and Parents Office. A total of 12 young alumni, each with less than 10 years of professional work experience after graduating from Ritsumeikan University, were invited as guest lecturers. Leveraging the strong network unique to Ritsumeikan-affiliated schools, the event provided students with valuable real-world insights.

On the day of the event, students reviewed the lecturers’ profiles in advance and selected sessions based on their interests. The lecturers shared their experiences regarding career choices during high school and university, as well as the paths that led them to their current professions. Through these talks, students were given an opportunity to think more concretely about the purpose of university education and their future careers.

In post-event surveys, many students commented that “my perspective on career planning has broadened” and “I now have a clearer image of university life.” Overall, the program proved to be a meaningful and enriching experience that helped raise students’ awareness of their future paths.
