【Calligraphy Club】Selected for the “Calligraphy Koshien” Exhibition!
The 34th International High School Calligraphy Exhibition (commonly known as “Calligraphy Koshien”) was held at the Tennoji Gallery of the Osaka City Museum of Fine Arts. Two students from our school’s Calligraphy Club were selected for the exhibition. This year’s exhibition received 10,634 entries from nine countries and regions, and only 1,600 works were chosen—making it an extremely competitive selection.
The two selected students are as follows:
-
Class 2-1 — Yui Kayama
Kanji Copying of a Classical Work (Classical Title: Sanpōshi-hi) -
Class 1-5 — Saki Murai
Kanji Copying of a Classical Work (Classical Title: Mokkan)
Students who visited the exhibition also shared their impressions, such as:
- “It was very educational.”
- “The works were powerful, and I became curious about how they were created.”

Being able to view award-winning and selected works in person at the very exhibition we challenged ourselves to enter is an invaluable opportunity when setting our next goals. We believe this experience will certainly contribute to our future growth. By turning the inspiration and excitement we felt from these calligraphy works into energy, we will continue to approach our club activities with even greater dedication.
