High School Students Receive Awards at the “Environmental Map Exhibition: Our Surroundings”

Map projects created as part of an assignment in the Geography class for second-year high school students received awards in the 35th Environmental Map Exhibition: Our Surroundings, as follows.

IGU–LUCC (International Geographical Union – Commission on Land Use and Land Cover Change) Chair’s Award

Arisa Takemoto (Grade 11)

Title: “Our Uji City: Tea Field Map”

Effort Award

Arisa Ohara (Grade 11)

This exhibition is known as one of the largest map exhibitions in Japan, and in recent years it has also attracted submissions from overseas, making it an internationally diverse event. These awards reflect the high recognition of the students’ inquiry-based learning result, as they explored their local communities through careful research, analysis, and creative presentation.

Our school will continue to nurture students’ ability to contribute to society and their communities through subject learning and inquiry-based activities.
