Former Student Council President Presented at the “Kansai Regional Student Rule-Making Conference 2026”

On Sunday, February 1, 2026, at the “Kansai Regional Student Rule-Making Conference 2026” held at Otemon Gakuin Otemae Junior and Senior High School, our former Student Council President, Yuri Hanada, participated and delivered a presentation.

As the 31st Student Council President, Hanada reported on the rule-making initiatives she led over the past year. The project began with a school-wide survey conducted during a Student General Assembly to visualize students’ voices. Based on the survey results, voluntary rule-making meetings were organized, where students engaged in thoughtful discussions and gradually developed concrete proposals. These efforts ultimately led to the implementation of a school-wide Rule-Making Student General Assembly.

During her presentation, Hanada candidly spoke about the challenges and conflicts she encountered throughout the process. She shared the difficulty of consolidating diverse opinions and the anxiety of taking on an unprecedented initiative. Her reflection on the obstacles she overcame—and the sense of accomplishment she gained—resonated deeply with the audience.

Following the presentation, numerous questions were raised, and even after the plenary session concluded, lively discussions continued among students from different schools. Hanada’s report served as a strong source of inspiration for participants and provided a valuable opportunity to reflect on student-led school development.

Our school will continue to value initiatives that empower each student to take an active role as a contributor to the school community.
