International Students Set Up a Hina Doll Display
Many of you may have noticed the hina doll display set up in the entrance of Building B. This display was carefully arranged by the international students studying at our school, who worked together to assemble the traditional hina doll platform.
The Hinamatsuri festival, celebrated on March 3, is a traditional Japanese event that wishes for the healthy growth and happiness of girls. Also known as the Peach Festival, it is marked by displaying ornate hina dolls and celebrating children’s well-being and future.
While arranging the display, the international students carefully placed each doll and decorative item while learning about the meaning and proper arrangement of hina dolls. They were fascinated by the intricate craftsmanship of the dolls and accessories, making the activity a valuable opportunity to deepen their understanding of Japanese culture.
