High School Students Perform Noh, a Traditional Japanese Performance

Mayuto Aoki, a high school senior SA (Scholar Athlete & Artist), performed in the following two performances.

(1) On August 20, he performed "Kumasaka," a dance-bayashi piece, at the 31st Shinshu Azumino Noh Performance held at the Azumino Toyoshina Kominkai Hall. The Azumino Noh performance was held for the first time in three years due to the effects of the new coronavirus, and he danced with joy at being able to perform on the Azumino stage for the first time in many years. He expressed his aspirations for the future, saying, "I will continue to practice hard so that I can use my long sword more powerfully."

 On August 30, he performed the Noh play "Tamura" at the 51st East-West Joint Research and Presentation held at the National Noh Theatre. He said, "I was nervous because it was my first performance in Tokyo wearing masks and costumes, but I was able to move calmly as I had practiced, which was a valuable experience for me.
